A split for every leg and every transition. The zone-in and zone-out timing behind our fitness races is exactly what a triathlon transition needs.
The splits we capture
- Start, by wave or individual start.
- Swim exit: chips aren't read underwater, so the swim is timed from the start to a mat at the water's exit.
- Transition 1 in and out.
- Bike, with optional checkpoints on the course.
- Transition 2 in and out.
- Run and finish.
Every athlete gets swim, T1, bike, T2, run and total times, with rankings for each leg.
Events we time
- Triathlon: kids, sprint, standard and longer.
- Duathlon and aquathlon.
- Multisport and adventure races: kayak, bike and run legs with checkpoints along the way.
- Teams and relays: handovers timed in transition, with each leg credited to the right athlete.
Race day
- Registration: we run it or import your entries.
- Check-in: every athlete gets a numbered chip on an ankle strap, matched to their race number.
- Timing lines at the start, swim exit, transition in and out, and the finish.
- Live results for spectators, with leg splits as athletes come through.
What it costs
The same hire pricing as every Split Line event: a base timing kit is $1,450 per event (up to 3 days), extra timing points are $290 each, reusable chips are $1.50 per participant, and the live results portal is priced by event size from $390. An on-site technician is $650 per day plus travel. All prices NZD excluding GST; freight at cost.

FAQ
Questions
How is the swim timed if chips aren't read in water?
The swim is timed from the start to a timing mat at the swim exit, which is the first read after the start. That gives every athlete a swim split.
Can the chip be worn while swimming?
Ask us about your swim leg. We'll confirm the right chip and strap for open-water and pool swims before your event.
Can you time team relays?
Yes. Handovers happen in transition, so each leg is timed and credited to the right team member, with a team total.
